- Cellulite is a nagging problem for many
women, even those who work hard to keep fit.
The reason is that cellulite is not a fat problem
– it’s a skin problem. Cellulite is made up of
up of fat cells that reside within the skin. They
can’t be burned as fuel, so dieting and exercise
won’t eliminate them. Liposuction can only
eliminate deeper fat and does not affect
cellulite.
HOW IT WORKS…
Cellulite is caused by connective tissue
between the fat cells in the skin. Over time, in
many women, this connective tissue pulls
down on the skin causing the dimpling effect
(cellulite). Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT)
mechanically vibrates the connective tissue in
the treated areas using sound waves. The
body responds to the AWT by increasing blood
flow to the connective tissue. This causes the
connective tissue to relax, thus releasing it’s
pull on the skin. The cellulite disappears! The
effects of the AWT also cause the body to
increase collagen production leading to thicker,
more elastic skin.
A series of treatment at 1-2 week intervals is
required to treat cellulite.
